How would you sketch this part?

It is metal wire of 5mm.

Do you have the x,y,z points and bend radii information?  If so, there are some methods using that information.  If you are just trying to approximate that shape, you could draw the center line as a path to sweep along.

I agree with Kevin. You will probably need the virtual intersection points.

Your tooling guy will definetly need the points to build the gage tooling anyway. I remember back in the days making go/ no-go gages for lock rods for an automotive supplier. Those were the good ole days!

Re: How would you sketch this part?

Can anyone please upload some video which demonstrates how to sketch this part?

Re: How would you sketch this part?

As per Kevin's suggestion.................
f you're not too worried about bend radii, for a quick sketch you can use a Curve-by-Table command to get a rough path and then a Sweep command to enter the circular cross section. A short video:

Re: How would you sketch this part?

You can put in 2 sketches and use the cross curve command. You can even put in the radi if you like.

Re: How would you sketch this part?

This is what 3D sketch is made for, isn't it? Or you could just make two 2D sketches, with the last radius and straight in the last sketch.

Personally I'd use a 3D sketch. And just sketch half of it and mirror.

Re: How would you sketch this part?

If all the bends are the same radius then frames is an option

If some are different use XPressRoute.
