API: How to determine if a node is a Midside Node

I was hoping for something a simple as a property on Node objects, but no suck luck.  The node object has the property Type=0,1,2 for Node, Scalar, and Extra.  I had hoped that "Extra" meant midside, but a quick test showed that it does not.  What is an "extra" node anyway?

Any way to check if a node is a midside node?

Thank you.

Wow, I don't know how I missed it: IsMidsideNode(elemSet) on page 1837 of API reference. I guess I had not thought about it in the context of elements, but this makes sense. The node may be shared by elements and may be a midside node on one of them and not on others.

Sounds like you already have your solution, but just to answer your other question... "Extra" nodes are simply flagged that way so that they would export to EPOINT in Nastran, which can be used in dynamic analyses for transfer function definitions.
