API femesh* to use mesh points on surface

Hi, I see a lot of functions in FEMAP to mesh. I'm currently using femeshsurface2 to mesh and apply properties. I have now introduced points on surface and it needs to be used as "Mesh points on Surface". Fasteners/curves will be connected to these points . Is there any function to include mesh points. Appreciate any help.

Thank you

KR

Hi KR,

Yes you do it on the surfaces before you mesh them with the .addmeshpoint() method.

Cheers,

Hi

I am trying to Create Mesh points on Surface. I am using the fastener hole locations and getting the points from the hole center.

I want to have nodes where the points are there. But  Femap  throws error only 150  mesh locations allowed on a surface.

Can any one help me on this

I am using Femap 10.02

Your solution is to split up the surface into smaller surfaces.  Use Geometry \ Solid \ Slice. After meshing, use Tools \ Check \ Coincident Nodes.  Also, be wary of placing mesh points close to edge curves.  Unless you have a highly refined mesh, this will almost always result in slivers.
