The following works with FEMAP V11.3.2 for NX NASTRAN V11.0:
1.- Select the property AXISYMMETRIC under Volume Elements.
2.- Click in FORMULATION and select CTRAX3, CQUADX4, CTRAX6, and CQUADX8 elements, these are the only supported by modern NX NASTRAN V11.0, the other CTRIAC, CTRIAX6 & CQUADX are not longer supported.
3.- Make sure the axisymmetric elements are defined in the X-Z plane of the basic coordinate system, where the Z axis is the axial direction and the X axis is the radial direction. Remember, all grids must lie in the X-Z plane of the basic coordinate system, please list in FEMAP the nodal coordinates to make sure!!.
If you run this way then FEMAP will export correctly the NX NASTRAN input deck using CQUADX4 elements, use command PREVIEW ANALYSIS to preview the *.dat file, OK?.
The AXISYMMETRIC under VOLUME ELEMENTS is the only option in FEMAP to choose to simulate 2-D solid planar axisymmetric problems meshed with 2-D CQUADX4 elements, this is the only option to use with any FEA solver. The following animation shows an example solved for linear static with EDGE-TO-EDGE Contact between two metallic parts (one Aluminum and other Steel) when one part gets increased the temperature:
I set CQUADX4 option in axisymmetric volume element.
When I export the model I otbain this message:
If I click yes FEMAP convert quad into tria element
Otherwise I obtain this error message:
where I'm wrong??
Which version of FEMAP are you using?. This problem sounds to me to old versions ...
