Breaking Surfaces (Creating Curves on Surfaces)

I have a 10 x 10 surface created using the Geometry, Surface Corners command.

I manually created points 2 units and 8 units along the length of each of the surface curves.

I go into the Curves from Srufaces command, Point to Point, and select two opposing points to "break" the surface/ create a curve on the surface, and nothing happens.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Point to Point Split works on vertices that are already on the surface geometry, not plain points in 3-D space.  Break the curves at those locations first with Modify, Break.  The edge curves will then be split whereever you specify.  You can then do a point to point split.

You can also accomplish this by creating lines, and using Geometry - Curve From Surfaces - Project, and project the lines onto the surface and split everything as desired.

Mark.

Thanks masherman.

I just find that strange that even though I created the point using method, length along curve, that femap doesn't actually associated or realize that point is on the surface.
