Can we do forming like extrusion analysis in FEMAP

Dear Sir,

 

I am working on analysis of metal forming (bulk), 

 

could it possible to analyze extrusion , rolling kind of process in feamp

 

plz help me

Advanced Non Linear solver option can do forming operations to some degree... better for plate forming / bending type problems, and bulk forming if the required mesh distortion is not excessive.  However, extrusion can be quite challenging.  Note that Advanced Non-linear does not include automatic re-meshing, and this may be necessary if substantial distortion of the original mesh is required to simulate the outcome.  If an original element has to distort to an extreme shape, then the Advanced Nonlinear elements may not cope sufficiently.

Dear Sir,

 

Thanks for your extended support, to know the capabilites of FEMAP Nastran.

 

I have tried several attempts, but facing convergence issue. Due to excessive distortion of the element.

 

is there any way to over come the issue, as you have mentioned adaptive meshing. 

 

if you are permit, i will upload the gemetry and modal information.
