Connecting mesh in FEMAP

shot.jpg

The screen shot above show dark blue elements (girders) connecting to the light blue elements (side shell). I need to split the side shell (light blue elements) so that all the nodes are connected, what is the easiest way to do this because I got like over 500 elements I need to do this on? This a big meshed model we have that I needed to add more structure to it.

Re: Connecting mesh in FEMAP

Project onto the light blue surface the nearest curve of the dark blue surface. Then subdivide the curve created with the same numer of parts of the curve used and remesh.

Re: Connecting mesh in FEMAP

Please excuse my ignorance but how would you do that? I barely started using FEMAP so I'm barely finding my way around things. Also keep in mind that I don't have geometry in this model, it's all mesh based.

Thanks

Re: Connecting mesh in FEMAP

You can make use of 'Split'. Go to Mesh > Editing > Split. This will help you create more refined mesh in a variety of ways while maintaining node connectivity.
