Is there a straightforward way in Femap to convert elemental loads to nodal loads?

Dear Andy,

This is done automatically by FEMAP each time you export the FEMAP model to the FEA solver, to have a preview use command MODEL > LOAD > EXPAND

You can made PERMANENT the expanded option.

For better helping please let us know the reason why you want to convert elemental loads to nodal loads, I don't understand very well your query.

Best regards,
Blas.

Thanks, Blas! I'll try that out.

The reason is that I have a model in which I need to apply a distributed load to the edge of a shell structure. All I have is the BDF, so there is no geometric information in the model. My best solution was to create dummy line elements with a very low stiffness along the edge and apply the distributed loads to those elements. I want to turn these distributed loads into the equivalent nodal loads so that I can apply them directly and avoid having those extra line elements in my model.
