I need to set a couple of features for FEMAP and unsure on how to set them up permanently.
Firstly, I would want FEMAP to delete the old analysis files (F06, OP2, F04 etc) from previous runs before generating news ones. Currently, I am deleting them manually before analyzing the model again. Many of times, I don't need files from previous runs...currently, they are just taking up space. Just want to find out if I can ask FEMAP to do it for me automatically.
Secondly, when I create a new Freebody, I need to go and change the view prefences manually each time. Is there anyway to set the options as I like them and apply it globally in FEMAP?
The above features are not essential or deal breaker but would be nice and reduces workload.
Once you setup FEMAP as you like use command Ctrl-Q > SAVE VIEW and the current view parameters of FEMAP (all the options set in F6 key ) will be saved in your VIEW.esp file.
You can have many "views" saved, at any time you can use any view using the above command, but if you are happy with any view settings you can tell FEMAP to use this current view from the beginning, go to FEMAP > FILE > PREFERENCES > VIEWS and browse the view you want to use since startup, OK?.
Regarding the NX NASTRAN files, I encourage to specify an explicit directory to store all NX NASTRAN ouput files, then from time to time you can delete the full directory, this way you avoid to mix both FEMAP & nx nastran files ... this is the method I use!.
Thanks for the reply. The option of saving a current view and having it made default was new. Unfortunately, that still did not answer my question. To make my question clear, I am referring to the preferences of Freebody highlighted in the image below:
I want to change the visualization from FBD entity color to RGB and have the vector style changed to Solid Arrow and if possible have them styles preserved in all future models I create or open with FEMAP.
Define all your FREE BODY options, make sure that all is running as you like, plot your free body results, then save your view (before rename your view to a valid name) using Ctrl+Q > SAVE VIEW command. From now in advanced you can get instantaneously in any old model all your FREE BODY parameters doing Ctrl+Q > LOAD VIEW > previously saved view, this is running at my end ...
