I know it is possible to create from surface mesh, is it possible to do the same from solid elements?

Thanks.

You can use the API "nodes move to deform" that you will find in the custom tools toolbar.

Then you can export an stl file with the external surface element.

in Femap 11 you can create some surface based on mesh, so you can use the API and then create solid surfaces.

Thanks, I used the "nodes move" command and saved as STL.

Maybe sombody know a good free software to transform STL to solid CAD data (such as STEP)?

I used "mesh lab" but it didnt keep the oroginal scale and the conversion wasnt that good and smooth.

Thanks.
