I did it in the past, but have a blackout... Looked for it for hours but couldn't find it again.
How can I put min / max labels associated with the elements for a criteria.
For example, if showing von-misses stress, the max and min stress will have labels pointing at them with their respective value.

Sometimes it helps to set the number of digits high. Sometimes the text is obliterated by the contoured elements...text is behind the color graphic. With 16 digits it is easier to find. But watch out because sometimes still the first several digits are hidden so it is possible to misread the number. Make sure you can see the decimal point and clear view of the characters to the left of the decimal.
Sometimes less is more. Set F6 Contour/Criteria Levels, # of levels low and user defined Min and max. example is looking for stresses < 9000.
Setting Criteria - Elements that Pass, Fail to red and green is usefull as well for quick and easy locating. Pass an fail may seem backwards, try it both ways.
Can this also be done in a template?
We have found a template for deformation and edge display but not setting the color bar settings min and max.
Is this the wright way to set a template for this solution?
<MinMaxCriterion> min=0 , Max=100 </MinMaxCriterion>
