Is it possible to display two output sets at the same time? Let's say i'm analyzing a model that can could be load at two points say; left/right corners or inboard/outboard corners, can i analyze the model for both loading conditions and display both out sets at the same time?

Yes, you can display results of two output sets simultaneolsy, simply create a new window using command "Window > New Window" (make sure to activate "Copy View" under View Definition) and next "Window > Tile Vertical".

Next you can plot any result you like from different output sets at each window, simultaneosly:

Thank you @Blas_Molero....I wasn't more specific. Can you display the two output sets in the same model in the same window?

I presume you want to superimpose the results on top of each other on the one model?  If so, you can use the Envelope command.  Carry out the analyses as appropriate.  Then select the result sets in the Model Info tree and right-click them.  Select <Envelope><..Your option of choice...> and the output sets will be combined and plotted for you.  There are several options under the Envelope command that depend on what you are interested in looking at.

Hello!,

Evidently not!!, in one window you plot only one result, but I try to understand your problem, why you request this capability??.

Let me guest if I understand your problem: you have results from two load cases, and you want to plot both results simultaneously in the same window??. Well, if you have two output sets or more you can perform automatically an ENVELOPE: click in the ANALYSIS STUDY and select ENVELOPE STUDY > MAX value and automatically two new OUTPUT sets will be created:

envelope.png

  • Envelope: This method compares the envelope of all output sets and uses the maximum value of the node/element. In one plot you have the maximum result from all the enveloped load cases results.
  • Envelope Set Info: identify the load case with maximum contribution at each element. Again, in one plot you have the full view of how each load case contribute to the maximum result.

OK?.
Best regards,
Blas.

Yes the envelop command does work. for this particular problem, superimposing the results helps visualize the analysis better. Thank you for the replies
