Spurious mesh refinement on curve projection

Genius
Genius

Hello,

I had this problem in v11.2, and thought it would have been addressed in v11.3.

  1. Project curve 212 onto surface 101
  2. Note sudden inexplicable mesh refinement on all edges of surface 101

The behavior is a little better in v11.3, because in v11.2 not all affected surfaces would remesh. But this is still really disruptive. I want the mesh size attributes on the face to remain unchanged (as much as possible).

Kava,

About Project curves on surface you can use the meshing toolbox capabilities and desactivate the autoremesh to not update the mesh size. Give it a try.

The mesh size attributes are still affected in that case. You just don't notice it because the mesh doesn't change. Also, I find that option to be quite useless because it just means you have to delete the whole mesh manually at the end of your changes anyway, because mesh-geom associativity is lost on changed edges.

Found the problems and fixed them, this will be in the soon to be released FEMAP v11.3.1.

Hi Mark - Don't mean to hijack this thread, but when are we anticipating 11.3.1?  I am anxious to try v11.3 but want to avoid some of the bugs in the initial release (in particular, the nodes/graphics related ones).

Thanks!

Definitely in the next week or so.
