When the load is shifting on the structure sometimes it is easy to estimate the worst position and run an analysis for that case.
I believe a better solution is to use FEMAP MultiSet to study the full range of motion.
The animation presented to the left is a grouping of static analysis results.
I have split the top surface, that is loaded, to the size of the contact area 300*200 mm, and generated load cases in incremental steps of 200 mm.
Below are displayed load case 1 and 5.
The structure is fixed at the bottom part.
This method helps asses the full range of loading. Estimating what is the worst loading position is no longer required.
FEMAP's animation capabilities help the engineers better understand what is happening with the structure and sell the results to clients that are not always with technical background.
