NX 8.5 - Composite Analysis on NASTRAN - Obtain ply stress in .f06 file

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to get the stress for all the ply of given composite structure via the .f06 file from NASTRAN. Normally, without composite it is easy to obtain... The structure I have modelled contains a 2d CQUAD4 mesh and I am able to see the stress in each ply via the NX Post Processing Navigator.

Here is what I have for the output definition in the .f06 file:

4 $* CASE CONTROL
5 $*
6 $*$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
7 $*
8 ECHO = NONE
9 SPC = 1
10 OUTPUT
11 DISPLACEMENT(PRINT,REAL) = ALL
12 SPCFORCES(PLOT,REAL) = ALL
13 STRESS(PRINT,REAL,VONMISES,CENTER,CPLYBMT) = ALL
14 $* NX STEP: SUBCASE - STATIC LOADS 1
15 SUBCASE 1
16 LABEL = SUBCASE - STATIC LOADS 1
17 LOAD = 2

I have tried all combinaison for "Composite Solid Ply Output" in the tab "Stress" of the window "Structural Output Request": "Default" "CPLYMID" "CPLYBT" "CPLYBMT"

And I still get nothing.

Can anyone help me on this?

Thank you!

Re: NX 8.5 - Composite Analysis on NASTRAN - Obtain ply stress in .f06 file

The stress strain output request is controlled by the physical property table entry "Stress or Strain Output Request". The default is "NO" and hence you do not see any output to f06 file. You will need to set this to "YES" for all the plies.

Hope this helps

Works perfectly now!

Thanks!
