Re: NX Nastran error

This looks like a license issue. "- AUTHORIZATION ERROR ***" indicates that a license could not be obtained.

The .log file should contain more information about what license server is being used, what license is trying to be obtained, etc.

Regards,

Jim

Re: NX Nastran error

Man Happy

I saw something about this, but noting about solution.

find atthached log file.

Re: NX Nastran error

in the log file

09:43:32 Could not check out license for module: NX Nastran Basic
09:43:32 All the licenses are checked out, or the site does not have the appropriate license.

you need to re-try or check that you have the licence to run Nastran! It can also be due to some feattures you may be trying to use (contact?)

NASTRAN uses an authorization file to enable you to run MSC/NASTRAN and utilize some of its optional capabilities. UFM 3060 is issued if you invoke an option that is not authorized for the particular computer you are running . This message can occur if the content of the authorization file is incorrect (wrong authorization code, numbered dataset, etc.). This message can also occur if the authorization file itself is correct, but it has the wrong privileges. The authorization file must have read privileges.

Production: NX9.0.3.4, NX10.0.2.6
Development: VB.NET (amateur level !)

The relevant lines from the .log file are:

09:43:32 License File(s): 28000@optimusprime

 09:43:32 NX NASTRAN Licensing Information
 09:43:32 -------------------------------
09:43:32 Sold To ID: xxxxxxx - UNIV. FEDERAL RURAL D
 09:43:32 Webkey Access Code: xxxxxxxxxx
 09:43:32 License File Issuer: SIEMENS

09:43:32 NX NASTRAN Authorization Information - Unable to Locate Product License
 09:43:32 -------------------------------------------------------------------------
09:43:32 Could not check out license for module: NX Nastran Basic
09:43:32 All the licenses are checked out, or the site does not have the appropriate license.

This shows that the license server is 28000@optimusprime and that NX Nastran was able to connect to it and query the Sold To ID, etc. Nastran is trying to check out a NX Nastran Basic license and one is not available. This means that there are either no licenses of this type in the license file or all of the licenses of this type are already checked out.

The license server .log file would show this information.

Regards,

Jim

Re: NX Nastran error

Hi,

You seem to havre desktop licenses only. You need to run the job only from NX pre-processor and choose the desktop license option from the pull down menu.

Re: NX Nastran error

Your license file shows the following desktop licenses:

  • nx_nas_advnlin_dsk
  • nx_nas_aero_dsk
  • nx_nas_bn_basic_dsk
  • nx_nas_dmap_dsk
  • nx_nas_dyn_dsk
  • nx_nas_nonlin_dsk
  • nx_nas_optim_dsk
  • nx_nas_rotdyn_dsk
  • nx_nas_supel_dsk
  • nx_nas_uss_dsk

You need to either launch the solution from within NX (with solver options set to Desktop) or specify prog=desk as an argument on the nastran command line. Note that with prog=desk, Nastran validates the bulk data checksum at run time. This checksum is based on the contents of the bulk data and the hardware ID of the computer that the input deck was generated on. It can only be solved on the same machine that it was generated on.

Regards,

Jim

Re: NX Nastran error

[ Edited ]

The .rcf file shipped with the NX 9.0.3 update contains the following line:

auth=28000@cinxflex1,28000@cinxflex2,28000@cinxflex3

cinxflex is the name of our internal Siemens development license server. This line should have been removed from the .auth file before the software was shipped.

Please edit the following file:

%UGII_BASE_DIR%\nxnastran\conf\nast9.rcf

Delete the line starting with "auth=" and save the file.

Nastran will now use the license defined by SPLM_LICENSE_SERVER.
