Reading PCH files with Excel

Hello,

I need to post-process some results using Excel, therefore I was thinking of setting up the Nastran analysis in order to have those results in a punch file.

Is there a way to directly import the pch file into Excel?

Thank you

Regards

Re: Reading PCH files with Excel

There should be a utility shipped with NX NASTRAN to do this...  I can't find it right now, but I'm pretty sure there used to be a utility...  Maybe the Siemens guys can chime in?

[ Edited ]

NX Nastran 10 Installation and Operations Guide

Chapter 7: Using the Utility Programs

7.2 F06 output to Excel

but BEWARE

SIEMENS may have "cocked" when shipping NX (10 and above?) as you may not find the folder

      installation_directory/nxnr/util/

which was there for previous version.

I spotted the isssue a few weeks ago and I think IR 7851856 has been raised (whatever that is!)

Production: NX9.0.3.4, NX10.0.2.6
Development: VB.NET (amateur level !)

Hi, can you please send me the script

Re: Reading PCH files with Excel

I have attempted to attach the script to this mail. Replace the extension pch2csv.TXT with pch2csv.exe.

To use it, you drag your pch file(s) onto the exe in windows explorer for it to work.
