SOL 601 - how to define PARAMs

Hi all,

 

I am not very experienced witn non-linear analysis so probably this problem is not so hard...

I meet following message that crash my simulation:

 

NASTRAN Msg:      ***WARNING: No element connection for node 3851 directions 4, 5, 6
                  ***WARNING: Similar warning suppressed for 4137 other nodes.
NASTRAN Msg:      ***WARNING: Nodal degrees of freedom without element
                              connection have been fixed for data input file.
NASTRAN Msg:  *** FATAL ERROR: SOL 601 DID NOT FINISH SUCCESSFULLY.
              *** ADVANCED NONLINEAR EXIT CODE 0 ***
NASTRAN Msg:  ^^^ USER FATAL MESSAGE  
              ^^^ ERROR IN ADVANCED NONLINEAR MODULE          0 


Total messages: 2 WARNINGS and 2 FATALS

then i found some solution in eng-tips forum, as follows:

Hello!,
Make sure to include PARAM,AUTOSPC,YES in the Bulk data section, this way NASTRAN will remove all rotation DOF on solids.

However, when I want to change solver parameters, it is not such easy as it is in linear analysis. Parameter list is simply not available from the interface level (see attached screen). Where I can change this parameter or what is another way of avoiding this problem?

 

EDIT:

I checked in the manual and it seems that for the SOL601 only the few PARAM inputs are availabla and more of them are replaced by card NXSTRAT, however still I do not know how to get rid of this problem ...

Hi,

 

Sol 601 is a different solver totally called ADINA Structure. Sol 101 a.k.a. linear static is NXNastran Solver. The parameters involved in these 2 solver are different.

 

The nastran message that you show does not tell exactly what error is that. To know the exact error message, you will need to open the .f06 file that comes along when the solving process terminated, or read the .log file if .f06 file does not exist. In these file, locate the keyword FATAL.. and there you will find the exact error message.

 

Send in the message so we can diagnose more.

Doesn't it work like multiple run of SOL106 ?

In the .log file for this solution i can see:

 

License for module NX Nastran Basic - NX Desktop (Bundle)  checked out successfully

but when it comes to f06 file:

May it be a problem with a license ?

Hi,

 

 

nx_nastran_advnlin_dsk is NX Nastran Advanced Nonlinear Desktop, which is referring to Sol601 and 701.

 

It looks like a license related issue.
