Structure of op2 files

From Nastran I can get output files .f06, .pch and op2.

From my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong):

.f06 file is a readable output file in ASCII

.pch file shows requested output arranged similarly as f06 but not as "readable" but still in ASCII

.op2 file is also showing requested output, but in binary. What I don't know is how this file is structured.

My goal is to be able to read data from the .op2 file using C++.

I can't seem to find any documentation on this, does it exist?

Thank you.
