Which is better between SOL 106 or SOL 601/106 for post-buckling analysis?

Hi,

 

I am planning to do a nonlinear static post-buckling analysis. The only nonlinearity are the geometric ones, the material is considered linear elastic. Which module of Nx Nastran I should use? SOL 106 or 601,106

I have done some tests and they gave me different results for certain cases. Which one I should trust?

Dear Enric,

Both solvers are capable to solve nonlinear buckling problems with success, large strain > 10% is a clear limitation of SOL106, but geometric-only nonlinear post-buckling analysis using Basic NonLinear NX NASTRAN (SOL106) could be performed using Arc-Length Control (Riks Method) perfectly.
