Re: differences between NX Nastran .EXE solvers

Hi Igor,

please see anther post in the Community, where Jim already explained the differences of the different NXNastran executables:

http://community.plm.automation.siemens.com/t5/NX-Nastran-Discussion-Forum/NX-Nastran-Memory-Setting...

As I think your question is related to your previous post, the following information should be important for you:

"If you are submitting a nastran job via a command line or batch script, nastran64.exe or nastran64L.exe should be used."

Important extracts from the post:

  • The nastran64 executable is built with 32 bit integers and 64 bit longs and pointers. The 32 bit integers limit the memory address space to 7.999 GB.
  • The nastran64L executables are built with 64 bit integers, longs and pointers so they have no current practical memory address limit.
  • If you are submitting a nastran job via a command line or batch script, nastran64.exe or nastran64L.exe should be used.
  • If you are double clicking a shortcut and want the GUI to browse for the input deck, then nastran64w.exe or nastran64Lw.exe should be used (think: w = Window).
