Create field for PBUSHT - Damping?

To all

In Nx.CAE v10, I am looking for the option to create the damping field for the PBUSHT. Does any know where it is. I cannot see the appropriate independant variable!

Thanks

Re: Create field for PBUSHT - Damping?

The PBUSH dialog has two sections, one labeled Nominal Values (PBUSH) and one labeled Dependent Properties (PBUSHT)

Each of these tabs has 4 groups: Stiffness, Structural Damping, Viscous Damping on both; Recovery Coefficient on Nominal and Nonlinear on Dependent.

Click on the Dependent Properties. Expand the appropriate damping group. Each entry has a drop down containing the following options:

  • Select existing field from list
  • Formula constructor
  • Table constructor
  • Link constructor

To create a new table field, pick the Table constructor option. You will see that the independent domain is always frequency.

Structural damping is a ratio, so the dependent domain is always Unitless

Viscous damping dependent domain is Viscoud Damping for translational dof and Angular Momentum for rotational DOF

Re: Create field for PBUSHT - Damping?

Thanks.

I was trying to create the field 1st to select it.

Having played with the field table creation, I found that by clicking 'Remove complex domain filter' I can actually create a  viscous damping table which can then be selected for the PBUSHT

How do you remove/de-select the field once applied!

Thanks
