FEA files with Teamcenter

Phenom
Phenom

I'm not sure if this is a Teamcenter issue, or an NX CAE issue...using NX9 and TC 10.1, our FEM, SIM, and I files are being stored with the Item Revision Master in Teamcenter, and not the Item Revision.

It would seem to be more logical to have these saved in the Item Revision, so that when the part is revised, you can look back at the FEA data for that particular revision.

Same with the generated HTML report, can it be saved into Teamcenter with the Item Revision?

Thanks,

 Dave

Hi Dave,

in Teamcenter, the fem, sim and iparts are stored in separate CAE Items that can be revised separately. (CAEModel, CAEAnalysis, CAEGeometry). They are linked via specific CAE relations. If you open e.g. your CAE Model Revision, you will see a CAE Target Relation pointing to your ipart. If you want to see the CAE data connected to your Item Revision you can use the impact analysis to quickly identify the CAE items.

In Teamcenter you can use the CAE Manager to have a specific view on the CAE datamodel. You can easily check for changes, generate CAE structures or integrate your own tools. CAE manager needs a separate license. If you want to have more detailed information on the CAE datamodel, you can have a look into the "Simulation Process Management Guide" in the Teamcenter documentation.

If you work with NX in managed mode, the files are exactly stored in the CAE datamodel. If you have an Item Revision loaded you can switch to Simulation and right click the part in the simulation file view. The context menu offers to check for related CAE Items.
