Flow paraller run MPICH2 error

Hello

 

im running a solution in paraller but getting this type of error:

 

unable to read the cmd header on the pmi context, Error = -1
.

Same solution works on different computer. 

Any idea what could cause this problem?

Check if you start the MPICH2 as Admin.

Did not do any difference.

I am already running with full admin/ full access.

  • Which OS are you running on?
  • What are the hardware specs?

Win7 professional 64bit.
14 core i7 00 intel. 64G ddr4.
Not over clocked



My first concern was processor, openmpi runs with out problems in linux wit
same machine.

It is possible that the MPICH2 is not correctly setup in Windows. Is the smpd service running in the task manager?

Hello

 

Was not MPI problem at all.

 

Actually a way too big time step in simulation, it did not give any error from solver it self.

Just an MPI error, and it only does this on my workstation.

 

 

For some reason my NX setup on this workstation does not automaticly reduce timestep.

And after first initial step it crashes.

 

Is there a check box for automatic time step reduction that I have accedently disabled???

Are you using the same solver patch on your machine as on the other machines? You can see the patch version at the top of the log file.

 

If the patches are the same, I would check whether you have sufficient memory to run the solve. Please try running with fewer cores and monitor the memory usage in the Task Manager.

Yes Im runnig same solvers and everything.

It is actually same solution, at least copy of it.
