Tackling: solid fuel boiler with coupled Thermal and Flow solution
Description of the computational model:
First: Fluid model of Combustion fumes has diferent temperature in diferent sections of boiler.
Second: Fluid model of WATER (with input, output)
Between these two models are steel plates (2D Shell elements). We want to solve transferred heat to water and determine the thermal field of water.
Goal: Determined if somewhere is not local boiling of water and where is not water flow.
How to define the Combustion fumes temperature, or otherwise how to define the Power of the boiler in order to get a realistic thermal field across the boiler?
If I use function TEMPERATURE on fluid elements or on face of fluid model, it doesnt work.
Hello: The Temperature Constraint does not work with Flow entities because it is a Thermal constraint. It seems to me that if you explicitly model both the heat addition and removal in this model, the combustion gas temperatures from the model should match your measurements or expectations. The challenge you are going to face is that NX Flow will not accomodate boiling. You may be able to use Duct Flow for the water passages and define temperature-dependent properties to approximate boiling.
