Does anyone know if there is an option in NX.CAE 9 to use 3D geometry to create a Point Mass (CONM2) directly (or by association)? By that I mean by selecting the 3D geometry, NX automaticaly creates a CONM2 at the CofG (of the selected geometry) with "correct" associated data (mass, inertia, etc) and this CONM2 could even be associated with the geo(!)

The .dlx file must be in a location where NX can find it. This is in a subfolder named 'application' located under a user directory specified by UGII_USER_DIR or in any directory specified in UGII_CUSTOM_DIRECTORY_FILE.

Creating lumped masses directly from polygon geometry is in the NX 11 plan. The NX Open program formed the basis of the OOTB project work that is currently under development. So, you can retire the use of the NX Open program in a year or two. A benefit to the OOTB application is that the polygon geometry based lumped masses will update automatically when the geometry updates.
