Testing meshing ability of a polygon body in .part-file

Hi everybody,

is there a way to test the ability of mesh generation of an polygonbody when it is still a .part-file?

Thanks everybody.

Greetings

If you're specifically looking for a way to test whether a 3D swept mesh could be applied to the body then use the Split Body command in NX Advanced Simulation. When using the Split Body command in Advanced Sim you have the option to Check for Sweepable Bodies and to automatically Create MMCs. Those options are not available when using the Split Body command in NX Modeling.

Actually the check for sweepable bodies is available in Modeling as well, but it is fairly well hidden. Modeling development didn't want CAE use cases polluting their UI in general, so this option is buried in the Modeling Preferences. In Modeling, go to Menu, Preferences, Modeling, Simulation for one and only one toggle that controls the one and only one CAE specific UI widget in Modeling commands. That one command is Split Body and its check for sweepable bodies.

There are no other checks for meshable bodies in Modeling or CAE.

What is this "polluting" you speak of, Marc?  You meant enhance, didn't you? Smiley Happy
