Colors not matching

Is there more than one way to define colors in FEMAP? I can certainly see red and blue element colors on my screen (the way I defined them) but when I list the colors they all show color 4. I want to use colors to define groups, but when they have different colors as they show on the screen, it is kind of difficult.

The color of elements can be, their own color, their property color, or their material color, or an override color set for each view.  In View - Options (F6), in the "Labels, Entities and Colors", choose the "Element" option, and you will see the "Color Mode" possibilities -

You can quickly get to some of these options via the "View Style" icon on the main View Toolbar -

Colors for these various entities can be changed via - Modify - Color.  There are nice randomize options if you want to pick multiple properties or materials and automatically get different colors.
