Creating a time varying loadcase

Hello,

I am looking to add a time varying loadcase to my model. I have a table set up in excel with all of my forcing vs time.

The top row is my time in seconds and my forcing values are populating the table. What is the best method for me to create this forcing vs. time as a load in femap?

If you store your data in Excel like this you can copy and paste into a function.

Time Fx Fy
0 0 0
0.1 2342 4827
0.2 2468 4804
0.3 2513 4487
0.4 2708 4231
0.5 2835 3829
0.6 2840 3189
0.7 2695 2789

When creating a function make sure it is set to "vs. Time"

Do this for Fx, Fy, etc.

Then create a load set with a different load definitions for each force.

Awesome, that looks exactly like what I was looking for. Thank you.

What is the best way to run these loads in an anlysis? Nonlinear Static?

If you have TIME varying loads I think you have to account for INERTIA so you must perform a: 3..Transient Dynamic/Time History analysis Franco
