I'm looking for the best way to model a clamp connection, between a splitted clamp and a solid shaft (see picture).
The deformation of the splitted clamp will make its hole oval-like, so the connection will only transfer forces on the location where it becomes smaller, as the shaft will be loaded only on these locations. On the locations where the splitted clamp becomes larger, it opens up from the shaft and can't transfer forces.
I tried a glued connection, but this type also allows pulling forces on the shaft where the clamp diameter gets bigger.
I tried a contact connection with friction of 100 (and zero gap/penetration), but this calculation keeps ongoing like forever (no convergence).
