Hi All

 

defining a PBEAM element, I get error in my Analysis run. as follows, I know it's something wrong with the Bulk Entry rules, but I can not find it. shall someone help me with this please ?

You forget the decimal points at real values. Also all entrie must be in columns 8 characters width. Like this:

Or you can use free format and separate entries by coma.

I can not share the model very sorry , but the error is from the element I presume.

 

I tried Karachun's suggestion , still error , in opening the .bdf file in femap

Hi there,

 

PBEAM Remark 11:  The product of I1 and I2 must be greater than I12 squared (I1 x I2 > I12^2),
otherwise a fatal message is issued.

I successfully moved to the next error :

 

that seems to be the geometry, but I see the geometry exists normally, The one point is that I have not calculated my Ixx ,etc for my PBEAM, does putting imprecise values lead to errors ?

Referenced element geometry and/or properties yield a numerical
result which causes an element stiffness or mass matrix to be undefined.
Possible causes include, but are not limited to,
(1) the length of a rod or bar is zero because the end points have
the same coordinates,
(2) the sides of a triangle or quadrilateral are collinear which leads
to a zero cross product in defining an element coordinate system,
(3) the bar orientation vector is parallel to the bar axis, or
(4) a shear panel has zero thicknesss or modulus. Check GRID Bulk
Data entries defining element end points for bad data.

Do you check posible causes, that listed in the fatal message. If yes, then maybe your stiffness matrix become ill-conditioned. Be aware of using properties, which can lead to large differences in stiffness. It si better to use zero values or RBE elements, than use very soft or very stiff elements. Aproximately three orders of stiffness difference increase erron by one significant digit.

corrections to some elements failed , correct the model

 

I get it right the moment I open the file
