I am trying to find a Max Principal Stress in a specified group using the Results Ranking to Data Sheet tool. I am able to organize it based on the Max Principal Stress based on the Output Set. However, when I use the postprocessing tool and try to determine where the Max stress is located the Contour gives me a different max than the Data sheet for the same group. I tried playing around with the element averaging and such but I could not get it to match. Is there any information on how the Data Sheet is pulling these stresses from the elements?
Please note: Due to job restrictions I cannot post any pictures.

The DATA TABLE output stress results based in centroid values, then if you compare with nodal stress contour plots surely the last ones will be higher, ie, different for sure!. If you plot elemental stress contour plots (set OFF averaging, use CORNER DATA OFF, and contour type ELEMENTAL) then both the CONTOUR & DATA TABLE maximums will be the same.
You can feed DATA TABLE with nodal stress contour results using command LIST > OUTPUT > CONTOURED RESULTS TO DATA TABLE.
