The International Workshops on High Order CFD Methods aim at providing an open and impartial forum for evaluating the status of high-order methods solving a wide range of flow problems and assessing the performance of high-order methods through comparison to production 2nd order CFD codes widely used in the aerospace industry with well defined metrics. The fifth edition was organised at the occasion of the 2018 AIAA SciTech Conference which took place in January 2018 in Kissimmee, Florida. The Siemens PLM contribution includes the results of the simulations of the DNS of the Taylor-Green vortex at Re=1600 and LES flow past tandem spheres at Re=3900. The obtained results demonstrate the accuracy and performance of the state-of-the-art spatial and temporal discretisation schemes available in STAR-CCM+ in running unsteady, scale resolving simulations. In addition, a mesh generation workflow, using the turbulent flow scales obtained form precursor RANS simulations to estimate the required grid refinement is presented.
