Michael,

we want one more thing.

the color bar options specified: min=0 max=100 MPA
we found:
<ColorbarOptions>
<MinMaxCriterion> Specified </MinMaxCriterion>

Re: Customer Defaults for Post Processing

but we can't set the min and max value.

is there an solution for this??

after this we have our template so we quickly can look for the results instead of clicking all the settings separate.

we have to make a lot of solution with NASTRAN, so this saves us time.

Jeroen,

that's correct because setting MinMaxCriterion to "specified" is the first thing to do if you want to have your own colorbar limits. Now you have to specify the values von Min AND for MAX.

If you want to find the correct tag name to do so, please set the Min Max values in Post Edit  Dialog e.g. to "987654321." for Max  "-987654321." for Min. Now save a dummy template and open it. Scan for "987654321." and voila there are the names of tags.

Hope, it helps. Michael

Ok, the first step i understand.

To make a dummy template for min 0 and Max 100 i do not understand!
how can i save a dummy template? i really want to find the names of the tags to copy this in our template.

can you explain how to do so?

Jeroen,

that's easy. Modify all things you wish in NX post.

Right-click onto your active post view and select "New Template" and a new template with your actual settings is created, but with ALL settings not only the one you did modify. Don't forget to rename it.

Open it and  here you can easily search for 9.8765.

You will see this...

...
<ColorbarOptions> <MinMaxCriterion>Specified</MinMaxCriterion> <MinimumValue>-9.876543e+008</MinimumValue> <MaximumValue> 9.876543e+008</MaximumValue> </ColorbarOptions>
...

Best wishes, Michael

Jeroen,

the problems come with the multitude of templates.

For instance:

- Annotatons are not savable.

- If you have element selection, mostly they do not fit to other models.

- If your solution contains more than one loadcase or iteration bear in mind to select the correct one because template may reset it.

- Use good names!

- Backup!!!!

Gents,

This is a great thread. But... it doesn't quite do what we'd like. We have a colorblind user, who wants to use a custom color bar. We've gotten a template to work, almost, for him.

The difficulty is that the numerical range and colors are specified, by means of the

<CustomColorbar>1</CustomColorbar>

(full .xml below).

We'd like to somehow use the displayed value

<MinMaxCriterion>Displayed</MinMaxCriterion>

Along with custom colors. Someone suggested there might be a way to parameterize the values within the .xml, but that's a bit beyond me - any ideas ?

Thanks in Advance

Stephan

@StephanWintner, this really should have been posted as a new topic since the previous reply is almost a year old.

The behavior you describe will be possible in Simcenter 2019.1, where the Postview Legend dialog has been re-worked to allow specifying custom colors for each band without specifying a distinct value for the band. The band values will adjust automatically according to the Legend Extremes setting.

Sorry if I violated a rule. I generally prefer to keep a particular sort of content (Post Template color bars, in this case) in one thread, rather than scatter it between multiple threads.

But thank you for the feedback, if we can't find a work around then a fix will be coming.
