Importing from PTC Pro/E

Hello There,

I'm trying to import a Pro/E geometry in Simcenter12.

My objective is to get the material and mass metadata in the imported geometry. I tried exporting native, step, iges, etc.. from Pro/E, but the imported geometry in Simcenter is always "blank" - only geometry.

1) Is it possible?

2) If yes, which format?

I am not familiar with Pro/E, so it could be a user error.

Thanks,

Jacques

exporting pro/e (creo) part to parasolid (.x_t) an import in NX works just fine. I do it nearly "every day". I used .iges too

Hi selex,

Thanks for your reply - importing the geometry works fine. What I want is the metadata that comes with it, in particular, the material name defined in ProE

Thanks,

Jacques

Will have to play with the import but I do not think one can get that info. Mind you one always use .x_t file

Hi Jaques,

Do you have access to convert Creo Files to JT? JT will keep some attributes on PMIs. I used that for transferring Creo Annotations to Simcenter. Maybe material information is also transferred.
