after switching from NX10 to NX12 I did found an unexpected behavior in Post Processing.
When I try to "Identify Results" by means of the big yellow question mark
and afterwards I transfer the results to Excel by means of small Excel icon in Dialog "Identify results"
then I can't work in NX as long as excel is handling the spreadsheet.
Is this a special setting in preferences or costumer defaults?
In former versions NX did only transfer its data to excel and I could continue to work in NX.
So, I could export first block of results to excel and then later another one. The document connected to the Post Processor (in my GERMAN case "Tabelle von UG PostProcessor Results - ***name of sim***) did create a new sheet for the second export action. So I had an open document with a lot of sheets (Sheet1 - Sheet n) which I could save as last action.
Now I have to close excel before continuing to work in NX. The next export creates the excel document from scratch. Saving will always create a lot of excel documents with a single sheet. That's not good.
Who can help? Every suggestion is welcome. Best wishes, Michael
Always been the case for me that if one exports data to Excel from Nx, then one has to close the open excel session to carry on working with Nx. Never seen the option of "sucessive blocks" of data being added as new sheet as mentioned. I'll be very interested to see that however
no in NX10 I was able to export results to excel an then I was able to continue to work. See here:
I made a second instance of temporary excel document to visualize the second sheet.
As you can see, the excel spreadsheet is still existing AND I'm able to work in Post.
The program is reacting to the position of my mouse pointer and lists the correct result in bottom status bar. I could select it now additionally. - In NX12 nothing happens there.
Even after closing the "Identify results" dialog the excel document remains open and existing.
That's what I want to have in NX12 too! What do I have to do to get it? - Who can help?
Best wishes, Michael
I did search for such settings in Customer Defaults => Simulation but couldn't find anything:
Does it depend on the Microsoft Office Version or is it a problem with ug.xla in .\NX12\UGII\ug.xla or a template for spreadsheet export into excel??
Who can help? - Any suggestion is welcome. Best wishes, Michael
