Strains in op2 file but switched-off strains in structural output request


Hello experts,


I'm solving a large model with lots of different solutions and every solution is 5 GB in OP2.


Now I'm searching for ways to reduce file size without defining output groups.

In this case I did realize that my solution contains strains regardless of switching on or off of strains in structural output request.

I'm using NX10 (Linear statics Sol101). Is it important to have strains for calculation stress values or why do I have strains?

Or means "Enable STRAIN request" only enable ADDITIONAL strain values?
