Hello guys,

I am searching for some instruction, how to set up a calculation using submodel in NX. Does anybody has some experience with it?

I will be also very happy about some examples to exercise.

Thank you!

There is a workshop in NX CAST/Learning Advantage that covers this. In a nutshell, you use the Post Identify command to obtain displacement results. In newer versions, a spatially varying table field can be generated directly. In older versions, you can export the boundary displacements to a .csv file, then create a table field by importing the .csv file.

On the submodel, boundary constraints can be created using these table fields.

Hello Jim,

thank you for your answer.

Is it possible to download this cast files from the GTAC homepage?

I just have some examples for NX 7.5, but it seems that an example for submodelling isn´t included.

I got a movie showing submodeling that I created for our Benelux nx9 CAE user meeting. But it uses the new reference field method introduced in NX9.

In older versions one would need to use identify results to get a table with deformation results and use this as a table field input.

If you are interested send me a mail and I can provide you an downloadlink.

Additonal information:

In NX Submodelling is called Breakout modeling.

That´s the reason why I did´nt find any information in the NX Help Files.
