midsurface thickness or final surface thickness?

I have two concentric cylinders. The external cylinder has wall thickness 0.5 mm and the internal cylinder has 6 mm of wall thickness. The gap between the walls is 0.05 mm. The intent is to deform the external cylinder until it touch the internal cylinder and then plot the contact pressure.

The default thickness in the mesh collector seems to be always applied in the midsurface, changing the gap between the cylinders,  but if I model the final surfaces of interest, the final diameter of the FEM model will change when applying the default thickness.

There are any way to change the "direction" of the wall thickness of  the 2d mesh?

Yes, the thickness is applied evenly on either side of the element by default.

You can specify an offset value (ZOFFS) to shift the location of the element reference plane from the grid points.
