Automatic Simulations using expressions for a parametric model

Experimenter
Experimenter

Hello,

I am trying to run a a series of Nastran simulations on a parametric solid model for which I have defined the parameters using Expressions Tool in NX. I want to know if its possible to run these simulations using one set of model parameters for each run and then automatically changing the parameters for the model and running the next simulation and so on. So basically changing the parameters and running the simulation should both be automatic.

  • For example let's say I have a block with length (l) = 50, width (w) = 30, heigth (h) = 20 defined in expressions and i want to run a simulation where I apply a simple tensile force on one of the faces of this block. Then I want my application to automatically vary the parameters l,w and h (2 more cases)  and also run the same simulation again.

It would be great if anyone can let me know where I can look up information on this and whether it can be done. Thanks

NX Optimization Module? You'll need a spsecific licence however

Production: NX.CAE 10.0.2.6
Development: VB.NET (amateur level !)
