Is there a way of specifing the number of spectral lines? I can't remenber

 

Since you have thrown down the gauntlet I'll take it.

  Model is still running!! As Nastran is not priting anyting in the .f06 after he has solved the modes I have no idea how far it has gone. Clearly I went OOT with the stress request. I'll leave it run until tomorrow

in Nx 10 it seems that you can get the RMS stress (and VM rms) quite easily. I certainly have not created the XYOUT cards (yet!). In my test case with requesting stress for a couple of elements I certainly got the RMS result.

Also managed to plot the PSDF, CRMS etc from the .op2. Seems to be working

I did notice the zero crossing result which one can plot. I haven't look very deep into it except plot a pretty picture and "moved on"

I see what you mean about the zero-crossing. Not sure I understand what I am looking at
Granted that numbers might not be realistic (as it is a test case) but a plot of the zero crossing (VM stress) shows numbers above 2000(Hz). I did the random from 10 to 2000Hz

 

More reading of the doc I guess...
