NONLINEAR BUCKLING USING BEAM ELEMENTS

Anyone know if it possible tu perform a nonlinear buckling analysis (Sol 106) with plastic material using beam elements?.

 

When I run analysis, a warning sayies:

CBEAM ELEMENT 76615 DOES NOT SUPPORT ANY NONLINEAR MATERIAL OTHER THAN ELASTIC-PERFECTLY PLASTIC
LINEAR MATERIAL WILL BE USED INSTEAD

 

Could somebody confirm to me if only linear material is allowed in Sol 105 and Sol 106 for beam elements.
So, I can't perform a nonlinear buckling with plastic material using beam elements????

Only elasto-plastic. as the help and the warning says. But the analysis somehow may be in the conservative side using using non linear without hardening.

sol105 is a linear analysis. (Eigenvalue problem). While you might be able to take into account stiffening effect ( preload) sol105 calculates the eigenvalues based on the "stress state" at the end of the preload case (previous step)
