Developed with the assistance of a university adjunct faculty member, this course is ideal for the undergraduate college or high school engineering graphics or design class. Teachers can use these materials to teach an introduction to solid modeling using Solid Edge as the underlying solid modeling software tool. You do not have to be fluent in the use of Solid Edge in order to present the material. The course is divided into instruction modules. Each module has a corresponding PowerPoint presentation, Solid Edge model files, and study guide.

The course is designed for you to present the PowerPoint slides during class. Instructions on individual slides identify when you need to open a model file to demonstrate a modeling function in Solid Edge. Students are expected to bring their laptops to class, so that they can follow along and participate in all of the activities.
The software version shown in the PowerPoint presentations is Solid Edge ST8. You can download the academic version of Solid Edge for free from the Solid Edge for Educators page on the Siemens PLM Software website.
