File Types to Allow in Forums

Can MS Office filetypes be included in the list of allowable uploads?

Allowing .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, and .pptx would be the first start.  I can see continuing to deny upload of .docm or .xlsm.

Hi Scott!

Sorry it too me this long to respond. Here's the current list, which includes most of what you asked for:

Let me know what other specific types you want added.

Re: File Types to Allow in Forums

How did we miss the NX part file format, .prt?  We should also include at least .grs (GRIP source file) and .grx (GRIP executable).

Re: File Types to Allow in Forums

Would it be a good idea to allow source code formats (.c, .cpp, .h, .vb, etc.)?

Not binaries, but the actual source?

Or would it be better to just use "code" sections in the posts?

Re: File Types to Allow in Forums

I think that regular source code files are blocked in many companies.

For bigger files a compressed archive would be good anyways.

Smaller files can always be posted in a code box.

Re: File Types to Allow in Forums

For large examples or to provide others with whole source files rather than excerpts, attaching source files would be a good idea.
