Hello. Is there a way to install the SPLM license manager via command line option using JAVA in a different location than the "/usr/java"?
I would like to use a different version (locatio) than the system JAVA.
Yes this is possible.
SPLMLicenseServer_v7.2.0_win64_setup LAX_VM "<full path to java.exe>"
off coarse change the setup file to the one you are using.
For the ful instruction, see this FAQ:
Sorry, I have no knowledge on Solaris ...So cannot answer your question here.
The only 2 options I can think of are:
1) Try the same command with the Solaris executable, and also add the last bit.
LAX_VM "<full path to java.exe>
But this is just a wild guess
2) if possible install Solaris license manager on another system, and copy it to the actuall server. But in this case you need to create a "service" to start your license server at startup. Not sure whet the equivalent of a Windows Service is.
But it's just me guessing here. Sorry.
Hello Dennis. Sorry to bother you again. Would you know where I could find older versions of the SPLM manager (7.2.0)? Or could you point me in the right direction?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do not use the old release, it will not support newer NX license files.
Always use the latest SPLM license server to make sure your NX license is supported.
What NX release are you trying to use?
If you use NX 5.0 or above, you need v8.5.2, which is the latest one available and the only one to support the latest Java releases for installation.

NX Customization - Best Practice Guide
@Stefan_Pendl is right... Normally there is no need to use an older version of the license server. The new version is backwards compatible with all older versions. As far as I know we do not supply older versions for download.
If you really believe you still need an older version, the only thing I can think of rigth now, is to use the one, that is delivered with an older version of NX.
With NX10.0, version V7.1.1 was shipped. With NX11.0 it was V8.2.0. But again, if you feel that you do need this particular version, let me know the reason why and we might give you better advice.
Sorry Stefan. I should've explained more in detail. We are currently running NX 9 with SPLM 220.127.116.11 and plan on updating to the latest license manager. But we can not find the current license manager software at our site. In case we want to back out if anything should go wrong with the upgrade. That is why I was asking for previous versions.
Sorry Dennis. This is what I told Stefan also. I should've explained more in detail. We are currently running NX 9 with SPLM 18.104.22.168 and plan on updating to the latest license manager. But we can not find the current license manager software at our site. In case we want to back out if anything should go wrong with the upgrade. That is why I was asking for previous versions.
