Spellcheck brocken

Esteemed Contributor
Esteemed Contributor

Since the rich text message editor is not supporting the spellchecker build into the browser, I used the one included in the editor.

This has been working good, but since I am back from vacation the spellchecker is brocken.

If I push the "ABC" butten, I get the message: "Spellchecker request error: 0"

Would you mind fixing the spellchecker, since it helps members with a different native languge.

It also helps native speakers to find typos, which seem to increase.

Thanks in advance.

Hello @Stefan_Pendl -

Can you please tell me which browser you are using?

I am testing the word "tset" to see if spell check picks it up.

It failed:

Is this the same error you see? I am using Chrome Version 37.0.2062.94

I will report this to our platform vendor to get it fixed.

Thanks!
Susan

Hi Susan,

I am using the latest Firefox release 32.0 and I get the same message box as you.

I use a 3rd party spell checker called tinySpell+ which you can download from:

http://tinyspell.numerit.com/

They have both a freeware version, tinySpell, and a more advanced version, tinySpell+, which cost $10 (this is the version I use).  It simply runs in the background and works with ANY Windows-based application which uses any sort of text entry field, including the Siemens PLM Community Site as well as programs like NX itself.

Note that I have no financial interest is this company or their products and am passing this along just to be helpful.

BTW, it works really well (it's already corrected several of my typos as I was typing this response.
