I was able to write a southbound agent in Excel VBA (see attached)
Thanks to Senh Mo Chuang (CMO), and the training at the MindSphere Academy in Austin TX, I was able to do this in a couple of days.
How practical is this? It's great for a demo.
No programming software needed, no add-ins, no ten different files to jump around to find - just Excel 2013 or higher!
If you want to learn the functionality of the southbound API, you can start here.
I tried to make the code simple to follow, and avoided a class strucuture. I hope it works for you, and provides some insight into developing your own agent.
Instructions on how to use this to send time series data to MindSphere can be found in the first worksheet.
This assumes you know how to use Asset Manager and Fleet Manager.
