How do debug a mindsphere a mendix mindsphere app locally

Creator
Creator

Hi,

have developed my first mindsphere app with mendix. The actual version is really basic, with some input boxes. I have pushed the app via cloud foundry and is accessable from the mindsphere launchpad. Now I want to make the the next step, accesing the data via the timeseries api. I have assigned two users and following core roles:

  • mdsp:core:iot.timUser
  • mdsp:core:assetmanagement.standarduser

For the pushed app I have although created a app credential with read/write access. But on every startup I got a timeout for the access.

I am running the development enviroment locally and the project data is also stored locally. Is a client credential necessary for local testing?

Hi Ingo,

to make calls to the MindSphere localy you need the app credentials.

With this app credenials the SSO module will go and ask for a valid MindSphereToken.

When making a REST call to MindSphere make sure that this call is always authorized with the MindSphere Token.

All details you can find here https://docs.mendix.com/refguide/mindsphere/mindsphere-development-considerations#1-introduction.

For local development please consider that you maybe need special proxy settings to get out of your company network.

Yes, the proxy settings can be set in mendix studio.
