CuongVo, unless your machine tools are bench-top's $2000 worth each, then you can quickly rig together some NXOpen classes using CAM.path and some point3d/vector3d transformations for machining any irregular shapes, facets, whatever really.

From previous experiences with these sort of nxopen plugins, it works one time on two. Perfect if you have time to waste sitting in front of a computer screen all day long then that might become a new hobby that you'll like.

If for a production/engineering environment, my advice is to learn about the NX's Reverse Engineering and Surfaces tools before. Working with well defined geometry from the start makes things simpler (and much cheaper) at the end of the day.

Attached find a vb journal with block dialog to create faces from facets, it can take quite some time if there are hundred thousand facets.

  1. Import the STL into NX
  2. select the faceted body and the process parameters
  3. OK and wait for the process to finish

This is only tested with NX 10.0.3.

The VB journal can be in any place.

The DLX file must be in an application sub-folder pointed to by the variables UGII_SITE_DIR, UGII_GROUP_DIR, UGII_USER_DIR or any folder contained in custom_dirs.dat

Hi Stefan_Pendl!

Excuse me! can you create a video guide for me?

I don't never install add-in such as this in NX so don't understand way to use in NX.

Thanks so much!
