Adding new file templates to manufacturing tab

I have some templates I would like to add to my manufacturing section for when I want to start a new file. How do I go about this?

From the ugii_env.dat file:

############################################################################
#
# The following is the root folder of the template definition files for
#  File => New
#
UGII_TEMPLATE_DIR=

Create a server share containing the PAX files you alter or use the NX custom package offered in the customization section of the community.

New question - same form.

Say I want rename a couple of those tabs (Ship Structures-Inspection-Mechatronics Cocept Designer etc.). Where is that form located and is it editable?

You can't rename them, they are created dynamically.

The contents of the folder pointed to by UGII_TEMPLATE_DIR define what is displayed, if there is no PAX file for a category, the category is not displayed.

To create tabs of your own names, just change the FileNewTab attribute of the presentation node from manufacturing to something else.

The names of the attributes should be self explaining.

I'm assuming the order of the tabs are created dynamically also. I'm renaming the Megatronics and Shipbuilding to what I need okay, but 2 tabs I have side by side and the 3rd is on the far end of the form. Any way to have the 3 tabs I want all side by side in the File New form?

Best is to point the UGII_TEMPLATE_DIR variable to a folder of your own.

Place only pax files you customized there and you will only have the tabs you like.

I don't know how the order is specified, but I would think it could be one of the following.

  1. alphabetical order in the folder
  2. alphabetical order of the FileNewTab attribute

It would be easy to test this out.

There was a thread a while ago (probably old forums) discussing tab order.

I don't remember the resolution.
